In the process of poultry breeding, cultivation environment has an important effect on poultry healthy growth. Farmers need to keep themselves informed about information on breeding environment to create favorable conditions for the healthy growth of poultry. In addition, scientific management should to be implemented to obtain more economic benefits.Traditional measurements, which rely on manual sampling and repeated measuring, can only get deficient data on cultivation environment. Besides, tools need to be frequently moved in the measurement, affecting the daily routine of poultry. Another way to transfer the data out is through wired network. However, with problems of complicated wiring and high cost, it is not easy to change measuring points using this method. Fully automated environmental monitoring system for poultry farms applied home and abroad, with its high budget, is not affordable for most farmers under financial troubles in China. In view of the present situation in our country, this paper proposes a design scheme of environment monitoring system on poultry farming. By means of wireless transmission, this design allows farmers to view data of breeding environment, to browse video images of farms, to control related peripheral devices and to conduct simple exception handling by surfing the internet.This system is comprised of four modules, including data acquisition terminal, data processing center, data storage unit, remote monitoring terminal. Taking LPC11C14 chip as its main control chip, data acquisition terminal collects data about temperature and humidity of breeding environment, light intensity and personnel accessing information, and then transmits these data to the data processing center through Zigbee. With S5PC100 chip as the main control chip, data processing center analyzes and processes the environmental data, then transmits the processed data to remote monitoring terminal through network. When an abnormality is detected, the dangerous data will be stored in the database. Meanwhile, users will be informed by GPRS module and alarmed by the buzzer. Data storage unit is mainly used for storing the registration information, staff accessing information and dangerous information. Remote monitoring terminal enables users to login the internet for remote monitoring. This paper mainly introduces the overall design of the system, hardware design of two core modules, software design as well as test and analysis of the system.The function of this system was verified by classroom environment test and simulation experiments. And the results show that environmental data can be quickly and accurately uploaded to the PC web with clear and smooth video image. Featuring low power consumption, user-friendly monitoring interface, better expansibility, users are able to control the related devices, thus achieving the expected design goal.
