Yili and Aksu are main cattle farming areas in Xinjiang. With the rapid development of animal husbandry, transformation from traditional nomadic to modern animal husbandry, intensive beef cattle farms are increasing.In the present study the environmental parameters in the collective beef cattle farms in Xinjiang were detected and the comparison between different areas, seasons in beef cattle farms was done for providing the basic scientific information for controlling of greenhouse gas emissions and providing the better animal welfare and good beef cattle production practice.Nine environmental indices(Luminosity, Temperature, Humidity, Noise, CH4, CO2, NH3,PM10 and TSP) were detected according to the methods mandated in the national standard NY/T388-1999. The results showed that all environment indices tested in the beef cattle farms in the average met the GB except CO2 concentration in the beef cattle farms in north Xinjiang, and the luminosity and temperature the beef cattle farms in south Xinjiang. From the point of view of 24 h changes of all environment indices in the farms, luminosity time and temperature in the summer and winter,humidity and CO2 concentration in the winter in north Xinjiang were not exceeded to the limit of GB, temperature in summer and winter, luminosity time in summer.Humidity at winter in south Xinjiang was not up to GB, luminosity, temperature and humidity had a great relationship with the environment. Humidity at winter in north significantly higher than south Xinjiang(P﹤0.01), low temperature and humidity was the most cold environment, CO2 concentration at winter in north Xinjiang was more than the limit in GB, NH3 concentration at summer and winter in north significantly higher than south Xinjiang(P ﹤ 0.01). The results showed that did found some environmental indices not conform to the GB, but overall evaluation, southern environment was better than north Xinjiang, description of south Xinjiang breeding management and cultivation mode is more suitable for beef cattle growth. They have play a warning role for these cattle farming enterprises, to housing construction,breeding management at beef cattle farms in the future play a guide role in Xinjiang.Taken together, intensive beef cattle breeding is conducive to the further development of animal husbandry in Xinjing, most of the environment indices in line with the GB,intensive beef cattle breeding is beneficial for improving people’s livelihood,grassland ecological environment and the sustainable animal husbandry.
