Pollution cause by livestock husbandry that quickly developing has been closely watched socially. The environment pollution in pig industry included mainly manure waste and air pollution caused by harmly gaseous, such as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, excreted to air environment. In the present study, we have developed a compound deodorant and validated it’s application in feeding and digestive experiment.Experiment1. Development of a new kind of composite deodorant. Best raw materials, fomula and addictive amount of compound adsorbent were filtered firstly by methods of waste fermentation and static adsorption for NH3and H2S, and then recombined with Bacillus Subtilis preparations to be a new kind of composite deodorant.Experiment2. Effects of the composite deodorant on NH3concentration in piggeries.480healthy (body weight(40±2.87)kg) Landrace x Large White piglets were randomly assigned to three groups randomly:Blank Control Group, Bacillus Subtilis Group and Compound Deodorant Group. Each group occupyed1piggery with16bars and10pigs per bar. Spatial and temporal rule of ammonia distribution in piggeries at24hours were studied in method of dense stationing determination before formal test. On the basis, moments and points for monitoring ammonia determined. Feeding trial was for15days, ammonia concentration on every monitoring point at each monitoring moment were tested and recorded in different piggeries, then average of determination per24hours calculated and defined as daily average concentration of ammonia of the piggery. Growth performance of piglets in3bars each group were determined.Experiment3. Effects of the compound deodorant on apparent nutrients digestibility of piglets.16head of60Kg piglets were randomly divided into4treatment evenly:Blank Control Group, Bacillus Subtilis Group, The Compound Deodorant Group and Yucca Extract Group. All collect method was adopted, Preliminary feeding period3days, and formal period4days.Results were showed as follows:(1) Activated carbon and Tea-dross were best in respect of adsorbing odors, their ammoniaadsorption rate(AAR)was respectively90.87%,90.87%and hydrogen sulfide adsorptionrate91.38%,93.85%. (2) It was when T/C(Tea-dross/activated carbon, T/C)was5that adsorption performed best, when HSAR was82.65%(P<0.05),AAR was72%(p<0.05).2%was the best reasonable adding amount of the composite deodorant considering economic and environmental benefits.(3) After adding the compound deodorant to piglet diet, the ammonia concentration of piggeries significantly reduced, and compound deodorant effected better than that of Bacillus Subtilis preparation:1-5days of the trial period,6-10days,11-15days, deodorant group compared with blank control group and Bacillus Subtilis group11.25%,62.58%,35.29%,18.71%,15.95%,11.4%.(4) After adding the compound deodorant to diet, apparent digestibility of crude fat reduced by13.04%compared with blank control group, the apparent digestibility of crude fat of yucca extract group decreased by20.97%compared with blank control group, with difference significant (P<0.05).(5) Compound deodorant can enhance the apparent digestibility of crude fiber by64.71%compared with blank control group, with difference significant.(6) After adding compound deodorant, skatole content in pig feces compared with blank control group was increased by214.9%(P<0.05), but difference of indole among treats were not significant(P>0.05).According to experimental results, active carbon, tea-dross and Bacillus Subtilis were chosed as raw materials of the compound deodorant, and T/C was5. Adding amount of compound deodorant was2%of diet; Compound deodorant significantly reduced concentration of ammonia in the barns; Compound deodorant reduced apparent digestibility of crude fat significantly, increased that of crude fiber in growing pigs, and reduces the degradation of odor compounds in feaces in piggery effectively.
