The article was formed by researching application species and frequency of different typesof coleus plants. The objects were seven various types of public green landscape, includingthe main roads, street parks, squares, public parks, residential areas, enterprises and the othergreen spaces in Canton. As the result, there are397different types of coleus plants, belongingto80families,183genus. And we drew the application frequency table of the coleus plantsin this seven various types of public green landscape.Using the SBE(Scenic Beauty Estimation Method), we found the plant configurationmode that people preferred. Regarding to the respondents’ preferences of coleus plants’configuration mode in Canton, the SBE results were as follows: publicparks(7.498),residential areas(7.431),the main roads(7.463),street parks(7.420),enterprises(7.410),squares(7.396)and the other green spaces(7.379).We can see that the SBEof public parks and residential areas are the highest, and the SBE results of squares and theother green spaces are the lowest. It showed that the squares and the other green spacescouldn’t satisfy people, so we need to improve plants’ color matching, configurationhierarchy and infrastructure. We also can find the best plant configuration mode in Canton’sseven various types of public green landscape. It shows that the research will have a certainreference value for improving the aesthetic value of coleus plants landscape in South China.
