| Hotan is typical of arid areas in Xinjiang, the natural factors determine that thebiomass is low, the ecosystem has simple structure, poor stability, easy to damage anddifficult to restore, and reflects the fragile characteristics in all kinds of naturalecological ecosystem in this area. In order to improve the ecological ecosystem andproduction conditions, Hotan region made full use of the favorable opportunity thatthe country accelerated the development of economy in national regions andvigorously improved the ecological ecosystem to accelerate the development ofeconomy in national regions, which based on the natural forest protection andartificial ecological forest construction as the breakthrough point. Therefore, itgradually worked out a new pattern of governing the deserts, protecting ecologicalecosystem and economic development to have achieved great ecological, economicand social benefits.On the basis of deep understanding of the importance of ecological restoration,guided by the ecological restoration theory and method, this paper made full use ofthe literature retrieval research data obtained, adopted the methods of norms andempirical combination, combination of quantitative and qualitative and graphicscombined with data. On the basis of on-the-spot investigation to carry out the research,and combined with related benefits of ecological restoration in Hotan area project.The following conclusions were:(1) Eco-efficiency aspects. Artificial cultivation of tamarix chinensis can increase soilclay and silt content, improve soil fertility, reduce daytime temperature and diurnalrelative humidity, effectively reduce speed, and also increase the local biodiversity,especially for the vegetation changing significantly in the pioneer, which’s coverageimproved significantly. (2) Economic aspects. The ecological restoration project implementation of artificialtamarisk-herba cistanches resulted in the available land increase, rural economiccenter of gravity shifted to the green industry. It not only promoted an increase inGNP but also lead to the development of the tertiary industry, which adjusteddiversification of the industrial structure to a reasonable direction. Simultaneously, italso promoted local fiscal revenues and continued growth in per capita income andget the economy rapid development. Consequently, the farmers’ benefits get moreaffordable.(3) Social benefits. The ecological restoration project implementation of artificialtamarisk-herba cistanches solved a worldwide difficult problem that ecologicalforests cannot produce direct economic benefits. It also opened a new way ofeconomic growth for Hotan to ease the difficult problem of employment. At the sametime, the project also improved the quality of life and enhanced the local population,made the social order and social atmosphere to be a good direction and improvedPeople’s Overall Satisfaction significantly.In general, this research explored the model of restoration of artificialtamarisk-herba cistanches actively and scientifically analyzed and evaluated theecological, economic and social benefits bring by ecological restoration project inHotan area, which provided an important theoretical basis for the promotion andapplication of ecological restoration project. It also provided scientific basis forXinjiang province and Hotan government and other relevant decision-makingdepartments. All of that had the practical guiding significance for promotion ofsustainable development in regional agriculture and forestry. |
