Artemisia selengensisis a common vegetable, which is planed mainly in Yangtze River Region such as Hubei,Jiangsu,Hunan,Jiangxi and Anhui. Caidian zones in Wuhan,Hubei Province Artemisia selengensis has grown as an important industry for economic development. But the low level of domestic cultivation of Artemisia selengensis mechanization, mainly in artificial cultivation, harvesting, processing, labor-intensive,low efficiency, high cost, low economic efficiency, hindering the further expansion of industrial-scale cultivation of Artemisia selengensis,so the demand to improvethe level of mechanized planting Artemisia selengensisbecome more and more urgent.Because of Artemisia selengensis’ special mechanical and physical properties and agronomic requirements, lack of defoliation machinery for Artemisia selengensis. In this paper, a review of the status quo at home and abroad to study the relevant leaf mechanical, analysis and reference to existing ways leaf defoliation mechanical, on the basis of analyzing Artemisia selengensis physical and mechanical properties of the stem proposed leaf defoliation program suit for Artemisia selengensis.Choose the best way to seperate the leaves by experiment, and produce defoliation device. Accoding the experiment optimize the test agency’s parameter.Established a three-dimensional model of defoliation device, and the kinematics simulation analysis is carried, as well as the production and testing of the prototype. The main work includes:1)This leaf separater’s object is fresh Artemisia selengensis, therefore combine the research on stem materrial, measure and analysis the geometry of fresh Artemisia selengensis ’stalk.total length different a lot, with an average of 304 mm,focus320-339 mm,the maximum diameter is 3.29-8.42 mm,an average of 5.3mm,focus 5-6mm,the diameter where required to keep the leaves focus 3-4mm,an average of 3.29 mm,the minimum diameter is 2.35 mm, the max diameter is 4.29 mm, the total number of leaves is13.5,the most is 20, keeped leaves’ average number is 8,the most is 12; the longest distance of each leaf to the top is 90 mm,the shortest is 10 mm,so the work length of leaf separator is 254-10 mm.2)Compress test was carried on fresh Artemisia selengensis’ stalk, max destructive is26.8N,the least is 9.6N,the average value elastic modulus is 1.5MPa, the sample and stem diameter has significantly infiuence on the destructive(p<0.01).3)Tensile test on Artemisia selengensis leaf in different direction, the requiredtension in growth direction is 3.4N, the requiredtension inplumb direction is 1.7N, the requiredtension ininverse direction is 0.8N,and the direction has significantly infiuence on the tension.4)Reference research on stem isolated at home and abroad, combined with the biological characteristics and mechanical properties of Artemisia selengensis’ stem, in order to meet the agricultural requirements 4 defoliation program was carried and tested, compared the advantages and disadvantages of each defoliation programs, select the bionic defoliation as the final program.5)Designed a seperate device of Artemisia selengensis leaf seperater, which can automatically gripping Artemisia selengensis, seperate the leaves, leaf and stems were placed in different place. Analyzed to determine the parameters of the key components of the holding device, the guide track and leaf seperate mechanism.6)Buid a 3D model for the key parts and manufacture a test machine.Test the effects of the size of holdin device’s hinge clip and the size of leaf separate mechanism’s separate clip on the separate device performance and test the effects of single and multi-root on the separate device performance.7)Produce a prototype which has 3 seperate devices and 9 holding devices, and test the performance of the prototype, the average pass rate of defoliation is 75.4%.
