Application Of M26 Rotstock In Potted Apple Tree

What is so-called potted apple tree? That is planting the dwarfing apple tree into a basin, and then shape its branches with ornamental form and rich connotation by using the modeling technology of Bonsai. On the basis of M26 rootstock, in this article, I searched for the better way from two aspects of grafting and modeling. The test is operated on Northwest Agricultre and Forestry Univerdity apple experiment station in Baishui coutry. The dwarf, grafting aand potted modeling technologies were mainly used. The key technology is applications of dwarfing scion, such as M9、JM7 and Qing 3. Different stock has different features. In the test, I reasonably used the M26 rootstock that is periodically eliminated on apple experiment station’s garden on the one hand. on the other hand, I made full use of the features of root easily、 high reproductive rate、 characteristics of early fruit and high pot method of M26 root stock to research the better way of potted apple tree.The experiment mainly includes two aspects. The first is the direct use of the original trees, through different height of treatments of 100cm、80cm、60cm and different degrees of branches of the trees to research the ways of potted apple tree. As the result of the test, I concluded that higher the scion is and greater the degree is, more flowers the apple tree has. The second is grafting modification, the test mainly used several ways, such as bark grafting with one scion、bark grafting with two scions and than use approach grafting、bark grafting with one scion and one rootstock and than use approach grafting ways. When bark grafting with two scions, the survival rate and following rate of flowering plants are higher than only one scion. Flowering plants rate from high to low in turn is 77-34、Xuelai、Xuelong. There are differences in rate of flowering plants when grafting with varieties of different short anvil stem section. Grafting with Pinklady tree, JM7 works well, while grafting with short Fuji, Qing3 performs well. In a word, The longer the dwarf anvil stem section, the higher the rate of flowering plants.Potted apple tree has become a bonsai art darling owe to its edible and ornamental features. It has high ecological and economic value, a very high market potential and a good prospect as well, so it has very important development significance.
