Potato is the fourth largest food crop after wheat, rice and corn,The main income of farmers’ economic crops planting structure adjustment and agricultural efficiency. Our country’s potato production in land preparation, planting session basically realized mechanization, but the potato harvest is still very low level of mechanization link, mainly in sub-harvest stage(mechanical mining, artificial pickup). The use of excavators digging potatoes from the soil out, and of the shop at the surface, and then by manually picking up and bagging operations. Artificial pick up labor-intensive, low labor efficiency, high production costs, has seriously hampered large-scale production of potato. In this paper, artificial potato picking up actual production design of a potato Sorters, once completed potato picking up, separation, elevator, packing and other operations, and pilot study of key components, the results of accelerating China’s potato harvest mechanization the process has a certain reference value.The main contents and conclusions:(1)Based on understanding and research of potato cultivation agronomic practices and physical characteristics of the potato, we conducted several programs compared to determine the overall design scheme of potatoes Sorters.(2)This paper developed 4 kinds pickup mechanism, including curved tine pickup structure, vertical structure dial potato wheel pickup, horizontal dial potato wheel-drive pick-up mechanism and a pickup mechanism, and related experimental study. It determined driven pick-up structure is the best pick-up program. Meanwhile, this paper calculated the key parameters of Pickup mechanism and determined that the depth of the pick-up is adjustable between 50-100 mm, pick up shovel loft is between 20?-30?, pick up shovel length is 100 mm, the width of shovel is 600 mm, the shovel extend after picking up is 300 mm, cast irons after picking up shovels gap is 35 mm.(3)Sorters determine the overall scheme of potato, three-dimensional renderings drawn by UG software, processing and production of the first generation of potato Sorters prototype, identified the main technical parameters of potatoes Sorters.(4)In the pivotal trials research foundation member, identified potato Sorters final overall program, drawing a three-dimensional renderings by UG software, and manufacture the first-generation prototype potato Sorters.(5)Sorters were a generation potato field trials, tests showed that the equipment can achieve the basic pick-potato. Sorters pick up 75.6% injury rate was 22.9%, and impurity rate was 27.6%.
