Study On Walnut Insect Pests And Diseases And Comprehensive Prevention And Control Technology In Weinan

The city of Weinan is the one of the best eugenic area for walnuts(Juglans regia L.). In recent years, growing the walnut has made substantial progress under the government guidance. Until the end of July 2013, economic forest area of the walnut in Weinan(except to Hancheng) is up to 700,000 hectares, 180,000 hectares of which is in fruit bearing time, and its output value is over 3.4 billion yuan. It’s not clear that walnut insect species appear in growing areas of the walnut in Weinan. We also don’t know about the main pest in walnut production.Based on general survey of the pest of the walnut, the population structure of walnut pests in Weinan was recorded preliminarily. Among these walnut pests, Anomala corpulenta, Proagopertha lucidula, Chromaphis juglandicola, Cicadella viridis, walnut powdery mildew, and Cuscuta chinensis primarily in the young orchard. However, Atrijuglans hetaohei, Batocera horsfieldi, Anoplophora glabripennis, Aromia bungii, Agrilus lewisiellus., Sphaerotrypes coimbatorensis, Cnidocampa flavescens, Holotrichia parallela, Chromaphis juglandicol, Drosicha corpulenta, Phenacoccus pergandei, Erthesina fullo, Cryptotympana atrata, walnut canker, walnut branch rot, walnut powdery mildew, bacterial black spot, and walnut sunscald commonly appear in the mature orchard.Field investigation of the walnut pests, the population structure of the walnut pests in Weinan was obtained preliminarily. In addition, Injury of the walnut pests was observed. Atrijuglans hetaohei, Chromaphis juglandicola,Chromaphis juglandicol, and bacterial black spot are most serious threats to walnut growing in Weinan. The main walnut pests were observed and recorded in detail. Trough analysis of occurring regularity of the important walnut pests and investigation of control practice for the walnut pests, integrated control technique for the walnut pests was presented. Combined production practices, some proposals that relying on professional cooperatives, related institutions and managing scientifically are proposed as development direction of the walnut production. Distinguishing primary and secondary of the walnut pest control, reasonable comprehensive prevention and control countermeasures need to be adopted for limiting the walnut pests in a certain scope. Moreover, combining with reasonable management of soil, fertilizer, water, postponing the occurrence of walnut rot, and extending the life of walnut tree may make walnut industrialization to obtain considerable economic benefit.
