In this paper, to choose suitable substitute-media of tree bark for Cymbidium hybridum, six-month-old seedlings C.’Shijieheping’were planted with the same cultural practices for 10 months in 10 media:ck (pine tree bark), B1(80%(v/v) tree bark+20%peanut hulls), B2 (50% tree bark+ 50% peanut hulls), B2P (45% tree bark+45% peanut hulls+10% peat), B3 (20% tree bark+80% peanut hulls), B3P (15% tree bark+75% peanut hulls+10% peat), B4 (peanut hulls), CKPS (80% bark+10% peat+10% cymbidium stones,), B2PS (40% peanut hulls+40% bark+10% peat+10% cymbidium stones) and B3PSPS (80% peanut hulls+10% peat+10% cymbidium stones). Results indicated that compared with other groups, seedlings planted in both B2PS and B3PS developed significantly in growth indexes, photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, dark respiratory rate, dry mater weight, nitrogen content, phosphorus content, potassium content and survival rate. Thus, for industrial production of C. hybridum’Shijieheping’in northern China, peanut hulls with addition of cymbidium stones and peat could be used as media to replace tree bark. The media of’50-80% peanut hulls+010% peat+10% cymbidium stones+0~30% tree bark’ promoted the growth and the nutrient absorption of C. hybridum’Shijieheping’.To find out suitable KH2PO4 foliar content and the suitable surfactant for Cymbidium hybridum, eight-month-old seedlings C.’Huangjinsuiyue’were sprayed with 0.114 mg/L (K1),0.228mg/L (K2), 0.456mg/L (K3),0.685mg/L (K4),0.912mg/L(K5) and water (CK), K3 with containing surfactant OP-10 (K3O), K3with containing surfactant sorbitol (K3S), K3 with containing surfactant saponin(K.3Z) and K3 with Fe2+(K3Fe, Fe2+ was supplied by FeSO4). The results of the study were as follows:(1) Potassium concentration of 0-0.685 mg/L obviously promoted leaf, root and blub growth while higher concentration has inhibitory effect on growth. Potassium concentration of 0.456 mg/L 0.685mg/L is conducive to growth indexes, photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, nitrogen content, potassium content and phosphorus content.(2) Spraying potassium concentration of 0.456mg/L with containing surfactant saponin increased plant height, root volume, leaf area and bulb diameter. Photosynthesis, transpiration rate, and chlorophyll content was greater than other processing. Spraying KH2PO4 with sorbitol increased the growth of leaf、bulb and sprout chlorophyll content significantly, reduced the plant calcium and magnesium content after a period of 6months. Spraying KH2PO4 with Fe2+ could obviously promoted the plant growth within 8 months, but then the growth slowed down or even stagnated, the bulb diameter, leaf area, root volume and sprout chlorophyll content was significantly lower than other treatments. Besides, the growth within 8 months and absorption of nitrogen were extremely higher than other treatments. Spraying KH2PO4 with OP-10 increased plant growth, chlorophyll content of leaves, photosynthetic and transpiration rate, improved the nutrient absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus but reduced the plant calcium and magnesium content.
