An empty sack cannot stand upright,the Food’safety in the grain storage processis always of importance to people. In order to reduce the loss in the grain storageprocess and ensure food quality,it is necessary to timely and accurately grasp allkinds of physical quantity changes during the grain storage process and find out theirconversion rules.Aiming at monitoring the environmental information of granary fortraditional cable method,ZigBee technology’s appearance enormously changed theway of transferring information which the traditional sensor network uses. It hasrealized collecting, transferring and processing information anytime and anywhere,this enables it to have the extremely broad prospect in the industrial data gatheringdomain.Compared with large grain deports, the staff in small grain deports (the height isbetween5-8m,the area is less than200m2)is easy to ignore the security situation inthe grain storage process due to size and transport frequency. By summarizing theprevious works, a design of the environmental information monitoring and controllingsystem in small grain deports based on ZigBee technology is proposed.The mainworks are as follows:(1) ZigBee, related technology,was briefly introducted, outlining the hierarchyof ZigBee protocol stack and the main function of each layer. By learning the networktopology, the small granary environmental monitoring system, using a star topologyto form a network, was determined.(2) Outlining the working principle of the monitoring and controlling system,the designing program of system hardware was proposed. According to the overalldesign, CC2530was chose as the master chip of coordinator nodes and end nodes,what’s more, MS5100smoke sensors, TN9infrared sensors and temperature andhumidity sensors SHT10were used as the data acquisition module, to built thehardware platform based onARM11(S3C6410) as a management platform.(3) The overall system software processes were presented. After joining the terminal equipment of a network set up by the coordinator, according to thecoordinator of the command, the collection and transmission of data were achieved. Inthe small granary environmental monitoring system, data can be collected into twocategories, the temperature and humidity data (for grain storage environment) andthe fire data (for burst fire). Based on the performance of TN9, a sensor arrangementwas proposed, to make the accurate monitoring for the fire point come true. When thefire point was detected, directing at the firing region, the control of fire fightingnozzle will work. During the experiment,the temperature-humidity data (accuracy,timeliness) and fire data (accuracy) were tested respectively, and the results showthat the design has a high stability and monitoring efficiency.
