| Canine hyperadrenocorticism is a condition that results from the adrenal cortexoverproduction of too much glucocorticoid in the body, which cause a series of clinicalsyndromes, including polydipsia, polyphagia, polyuria, abdominal enlargement, bilaterallysymmetric alopecia, hepatomegaly, hypercholesterolemia and hyperglycemia, and soon. Objective: The purpose of this paper is to improve the diagnosis and treatment ofhyperadrenocorticisom. Methods: Hyperadrenocorticism is diagnosised by clinicalsigns, normal laboratory, radiography and endocrine test, and monitored cortisolconcentration with ACTH stimulation test after treated with trilostane (3-5mg/kg,SID orBID,oral administration)21d,60d,90d,180d and270d,then we could make conclusion andtreatment.Results:(1)The diagnosis of combining with ACTH stimulationtest,LDDST,clinicl signs, routine laboratory and radiography were reliable.(2)Trilostane wasused for the treatment of HAC in5dogs,which was safe, effective and low adverseeffects. After treated with trilostane and Denosyl, clinical signs, biochemistry results of5HACdogs were significantly improved. The dose of trilostane were made on the basis of results ofACTH stimulation tests for monitoring plasma cortisol concentration, which werereliable, safe and could prevent hypoadrenocorticism. Conclusion:(1)The diagnosis ofcombining with ACTH stimulation test,LDDST,clinicl signs, routine laboratory andradiography is reliable.(2)Trilostane is used for the treatment of HAC in dogs, which is safe, effective and low adverse effects. |
