This study aimed to assess effects of Mo and Cd co-induction on duck Testis andrelated genes expression.360“Jiangnan2” sheldrakes were randomly divided into6groups (control group, low Mo group, high Mo group, Cd group, low Mo and Cd group),60duck per group. The control group was fed basal diet. Treatment group diet was addedwith Mo15mg, Mo100mg, Cd4mg, Mo15mg and Cd4mg, and Mo100mg and Cd4mgper kilogram, respectively. The source of molybdenum was (NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O, andCadmium was3CdSO4·8H2O in this study. This study had120d test period.10ducks wasslaughtered every30d. Blood and testis was collected. Growth and development weremonitoring. The related parameters of red blood cells was measured. Testicular oxidativestress, pathological change, ultrastructural changes, and relative gene expression level ofCP, MT-1, Bcl-2, Bak-1and Caspase-3mRNA was tested. The results were as follows:①Mo and Cd Co-induction was significantly decrease in body weight ofducks(P<0.05).②Mo and Cd Co-induction was significantly decrease in RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV,and MCH of ducks(P<0.05).③Mo and Cd Co-induction significantly decreased in the activity of XOD andincreased the concentration of MDA in testis of ducks(P<0.05).④Mo and Cd Co-induction caused the decrease in interstitial cell, spermatogenic cells,and sperm.⑤Mo and Cd Co-induction damaged Testicular spermatogenic cellular structure,include cell membrane damage, cell contact disappeared, mitochondria vacuolated,pyknosis, crest fractured, organelles dissolved, karyopyknosis, nuclear membranesruptured, and apoptosis bodys appeared.⑥Mo and Cd Co-induction casue relative gene expression level of CP, Bak-1andCaspase-3mRNA up regulation and Bcl-2mRNA down regulation. Combination of Moand Cd casue relative gene expression level of MT-1mRNA up regulation.The conclusion were as follows: Mo and Cd Co-induction result in duck poor growthand development, casued cellule low pigment anaemia. Testicular lipid peroxidation levelincreased and casued oxidative damage. Spermatogenic cells and sperm decreased.Seminiferous epithelium atrophied. Mo and Cd Co-induction damaged Testicularspermatogenic cellular structure. Mo and Cd Co-induction down regulate CP and Bcl-2mRNA expression, up regulate Bak-1and Caspase-3mRNA expression with dose-effectand time-effect relationship. Mo was cooperate with Cd. Mo and Cd Co-induction upregulated of MT-1mRNA expression level, but there was antagonistic action Mo and Cd.
