Potato is one of the three major grain crops in Inner Mongolia. It is not only the traditional crop, but also the advantaged and characteristic crop. And it not only has the edible value but also has some medicinal value, but farmers have serious losses because of the improper storage conditions. The temperature and relative humidity are key factors affecting the quality of potato storage. In order to meet the temperature and humidity requirements on different storage period of potatoes, test and analyze the temperature and humidity inside half underground potato storeroom of Inner Mongolia region in real time, use the CFD method to simulate the temperature and humidity field inside storeroom, grasp the change rule of temperature and humidity accurately, provide farmers the theory basis of scientific management, provide reference frame for the construction of potato storeroom, improve the quality of potato storage and prolong shelf life.With the single chip processor as the core, develop a set of multipoint temperature and humidity real-time testing system. The AM2301temperature and humidity sensors with accurate calibration were connected to STC89C52RC MCU. The whole test system can be extended and connected to the PC through the data cable. Set up the test interval; implement the temperature and humidity data acquisition, preservation and display. Analyze the test data in different storage period to ensure the reliability and timeliness of test system and provide reliable and timely potato storage information in the whole storage process.The test results show that the temperatures and humidity are in line with the appropriate temperature and humidity of potato storage in the early stage. And they are slightly higher than the appropriate value. So it is given priority to with cooling heat dissipation and ventilation. In the medium stage, the temperatures are lower than the appropriate value, but the humidity are slightly higher than the appropriate one. This leads to the frostbite of potato with different degrees. Because of the large water volume inside storeroom, there appears some condensation phenomenon at the surface of crown wall and the top of north wall in the storeroom. So it is given priority to with cold protection and thermal insulation. In the later stage, the temperatures are higher than the appropriate value, but the humidity are in line with the appropriate one of potato storage. This leads to potato inside storeroom appear putrefactive phenomenon with varying degrees. So it is given priority to with cooling air and ventilation. Fluent software is used to simulate the indoor temperature and humidity environment. The numerical model is validated with experimental data with a reasonable agreement, which is proved that the simulation method based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is feasible and the model is true.
