Xinjiang has rich herbal resources, There are a lot of wild and cultivatedmedicinal plants in most areas in Xinjiang. With complex and diverse geographicalenvironment and ecological conditions, Mongolia Autonomous Bayinguoleng isfamous for its abundant medicinal plants resources. But Xinjiang lacks a completeChinese herbal medicine resources information query platform and Led to thedevelopment of traditional Chinese medicine information technology lags behind,andhas an impact on the information technology development of Chinese herbal medicine.Also,The number of herbal medicine resources in Xinjiang is not clear and thephenomenon of disorderly and over-exploitation is serious.In this paper we establish a database of medicinal plant resources, and the datacomes from The Fourth National survey on chinese medicine resources, then studyand build a searching information platform based on World map. Through thisplatform, users can query the attribute information of medicinal plants and theirgeographical distribution information. Provided reliable information material forscientific research、medical treatment、education、business and individuals to study themedicinal plant resources in Xinjiang.The information platform is designed to manage the medicinal plant resourceinformation and known the geography distribution of medicinal plants, Combinedwith medicinal plants basic information, information can visually displayed to theuser. Another study is this paper is predict the potential distribution of medicinal plants usethe method of GIS spatial analysis: using natural ecological factors, such aselevation, latitude, soil and other factors were to create a shared database, thenusing the actual distribution sample data of the medicinal plants and topographic mapsdoing map overlay analysis to predict some kind of medicinal plants areas may exist,this study have the effect of the auxiliary field investigation.
