Design And Manufacture Of Vertical Banana Stalk Crushing Machine

A great amount of wasted banana stalk is always accumulated in banana garden or burned by banana farmers after being harvested. Year by year, it not only results in frequent banana garden pests, but also a great amount of organic substances wastage. Due to designing and manufacturing a banana stalk crushing machine, then eliminating the need of banana farmers’manual labor, saving their time, conserving resources, increasing the soil nutrient contents, improving banana production.This study introduced structure and working process of the whole banana stalk crushing machine, analyzed the trajectory curve, force and cutting pitch of crushing device, designed the overturned device and depressing roller of banana stalk crushing machine.As Hainan banana plantations are always small and scattered, local banana farmers find it difficult to buy a large model of high-power tractor, we designed a banana stalk crushing machine matched with low-power tractor. Its engine power was only35.3kw, we conducted a power check to ensure it can smash the stalks of banana.As the fact that banana stalks is thick and difficult to be crushed, we provide a special design to crushing device. Adopting a vertical flail roller to improve crushing quality and to reduce power loss. Adopting a closed crushing cavity to crush banana stalks repeatedly. Adopting a L-shaped scimitar to improve crushing quality and to reduce power loss.The banana stalk crushing machine was built by using3-dimensional modeling software CAXA. Then we manufactured and processed banana stalk crushing machine and improved it by adding depressing roller. Finally, conducting a field trial for banana stalk crushing machine. The results show that:the banana stalk crushing machine was running good and stable; Banana stalk crushing rate, stubble average height and inhomogeneity of stalk throwing were all reaching national standard.
