There have been several roadbed collapse incidents, which made great influence on the running of trains, due to the karst layer underlying the ground in Yi-Wan railway since it went into operation about 4 years ago. And the railway was blocked after two very severe incidents happened. With the investigation by China Academy of Railway Sciences, it found that there are large areas of karst layer along the Yi-Wan railway because of the karst geomorphology, and the roadbed was susceptible to collapse subjected to the vibration of the trains. CRH running on the Yi-Wan railway was proposed again by the Railway Corporation in 2013, which increased the burden of railway safety. According to the requirement of the Railway Corporation, the Wuhan Railway Administration transformed this railway to make it suitable for the CRH running on just after the 2014 Spring Festival transportation, and the diseases mitigation of roadbed in karst area was the key construction project. Based on the investigation by China Academy of Railway Sciences and the design report by the China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Co., LTD, the Wuhan Railway Administration Work Equipment Management Department designed a set of a construction organization plans focusing on the diseases mitigation of roadbed in karst area which provides a strong guarantee for the in-site construction according to the relevant technical standards and safe construction management requirement. Details are as follows:1. Based on the practical investigation and theoretical analysis, this construction organization plan focused on the diseases mitigation of roadbed in karst area along the Yi-Wan railway by the means of combining qualitative analysis and quantitative calculation. As safety, high quality and high efficiency were the basic goals in the design process, this construction organization plan came out an optimum proposal with the combination of construction technology, personnel organization, construction cooperation and reality.2. The schemes of without disruption of the running train, double line simultaneous construction in some section under the slow-speed condition and using inclined drilling grouting technology were proposed by this construction organization plan, which not only ensured the normal operation of the trains but also guaranteed the safety, in the same time, it also shortened the construction period and created benefit. Besides, this scheme promoted the construction and satisfied the time requirement of "7.1", as well as improved the factor of safety of Yi-Wan railway.3. In according with the principle of less occupation of land, less disturbing the local residents, environmentally friendly and reduction of disturbance to the existing railway, the construction layout was corresponded to the organization plan well, which satisfied the basic requirement of construction and economic considerations. With taking the full advantage of the existing railway and artificial slope, there was no new construction site. In addition, railway transport was fully used in the transportation of the equipment and materials, which reduced the disturbances and made standard construction come true.4. All kinds of security risks were analyzed in this organization plan, and it proposed solutions and emergency measures, which can ensure any kinds of emergencies were resolved successfully.
