With economic cooperation of the mainland and Hong Kong, scientific and technological cooperation have also entered a new stage. Basing on respective comparative advantages, cooperation in science and technology have been taken into place and its network characteristic becomes more obvious in the process of project cooperation. This paper reviews the history of such cooperation based on the symbiotic perspective, then conducts the applicability analysis. A modified model called “gravity model†is used to make an empirical analysis on the compatible degree of symbiosis.An example about information technology chosen from Hong Kong “Support plan for innovation and science†was analyzed with social network method during two different periods, including overall characteristics, centricity characteristics. The conclusion is that the mainland and Hong Kong have experienced a change from point symbiosis to the integration of continuous symbiosis in science and technology innovation cooperation since the year of 2002; the compatible degree of symbiosis has made big progress and differs in different regions of the mainland,the eastern region is much higher than the midwest and northeast; the research capacity appears differently, shenzhen, hangzhou and other emerging city business boom in the network and become the key driving forces for the science and technology R&D cooperation; official agencie’s support is an important force for remote areas when it comes to cooperation with Hong Kong. Geographic distance still plays a role in the symbiosis cooperation, the economic base with similar talents and knowledge structure are both the determinants of reciprocal type symbiosis. |
