A Study Of Hangzhou Metropolitan Area Development Based On The Perspective Of Central City

Metropolitan building is an important strategic choice under the rapid urbanization background in China. The studies of metropolitan evolution and development is important to explore the model of metropolitan development. This paper studies the development of Hangzhou Metropolitan from the central city perspective, and analysis from the following steps: summarizing the literature of metropolitan area and central city, then AHP (analytical hierarchy process) method is used to establish synthesis radiation ability assessment system which contains index including establishing synthesis economy, technology, openness, industry, enterprise radiant ability, then using the breaking point and field intensity model estimate the scope and the intensity of radiation ability in the critical timing from 2001 to 2013.Based on the analysis in the above, we found that the synthesis radiation ability scope and the intensity grows year by year and the radiant ability of different indicators varies due to the space difference of the area. Lastly, the development of Hangzhou Metropolitan consolidated into four stages:first, the central city bud and the cities of metropolitan developed independently; second, the central city grows, the metropolitan cultivating potentially; thirdly, the central city developing rapidly and the metropolitan germination initially; and the last, the economy transfers in the central city and the metropolitan explores the way to integrated development on the primary stage. And based on the research above, the thesis gives some developing strategy for further promotion of Hangzhou Metropolitan. The advices including enhancing the efficiency of the spatial integration of metropolitan area, promoting economic radiation in the key areas; and developing innovation cooperation mechanism for coordinating regional development.
