Research Quality Index And Characteristics Of Basketball Product Patent From China And The United States

With the improvement of the basketball training technology, science and technology seems to have become one of the important contributors in this field. Basketball appliance, as the material basis of sports training, will directly or indirectly affect the athlete’s training level. In recent years, domestic sports experts and scholars have done a lot of research on sports product patent. In this paper we try to construct a basketball product patent quality index evaluation system based on the statistics of patent data through bibliometric methods and analyze the difference of development characteristics in basketball product patents between China and The United States, in order to provide some references for Chinese sports goods enterprises, scientific research institutions to develop R&D policies and strategies.The result shows that basketball equipment invention patent in China application has started late, research and development based on the utility model patent and invention patent is less; patent family in international distribution is smaller, technology relevance is weak, inventor collaboration network is more diffuse, there is a still big gap between China and the United States in the patent technology R&D strength. Secondly patent quality index of basketball goods is 3.951,and the United States is 5.504;In the basketball patent quality index evaluation system, high correlation is found between the legal level index and the patent quality index; Then patent granted index, patent authorization rates index and cited index have a positive correlation with the patent quality index.The conclusion shows that basketball invention patent quality index is low to the United States, and related to low patent cited, technology, fewer inventors, and less inventions patents. Then, shortage of talents and patent technology cross amalgamation is one of the influence on low patent quality of basketball in our country. Finally, with the development of sport goods industry, we should perfection of related patent law and building patent research team. In addition, we should focus on science is one of the influence to competitive sports performance. In order to promote sustainable development of basketball and providing important technology, we should research both sports program equipment and sports training.
