Throughout the history of the global economy, the development of Industrial Revolution andnew science and technology make a spurt of progress in both developed countries anddeveloping countryies, which has also created an unprecedented boom on economy. However, human beings concentrated on the usage of natural resources and economic development.Thiseventually brought serious damage to the environment at the same time. A case in point is thatincreasing consumption of fossil fuels leades to massive emissions of carbon dioxide and othergases. A series of problems, such as global warming, ecological pollution, pose an obstacle toglobal sustainable development. Thus, exploring a pattern of low-carbon growth is becoming acommon theme for future development. This style could guarantee the growth of economicdevelopment and maintain environmental quality.Accompanied with the depth of international division of labor and the development ofinternational trade, the effect of carbon dioxide has tapped into every trade country. How to dealwith global ocean-restoration has been an international spotlight. As a trading power, China’sforeign trade dependence is always high, in which export seem to the biggest component ofeconomic growth. And the rising in carbon emissions is also an inevitable phenomenon in itsbooming export business. So measuring carbon emissions contained in domestic production andexport trade reasonably, researching on the reduction of space in different sectors of China’sexport trade and making clear the relationship between China’s export trade and carbonemissions, have profound meaning for export trade transformation and low carbon emissions. This artical is mainly based on the theoretical mechanisms of carbon emission, which alsocombined with the analysis of the present situation of export trade and carbon emissions. Itexamines the relationship between the scale of export and carbon emissions througheconometrics methods. It is proved by evidence-based analysis that, there is one-way Grangercausality between scale of export trade and carbon emission in China. Rising chinese exporttrade is a significant source of increased carbon emissions. Then roughly measure and calculatethe qualitity and the intensity of the carbon emissions by using the input-output method.According to this, Chinese export trade can be divided into high-carbon industry,moderate-carbon industry and low-carbon industry in a nutshell. This kind of classification provides a reasonable reduction of space for different emission intensity of the export industry. At the same time, this comparative analysis helps to find out that the export structure andtechnical level are playing important roles in carbon emissions of export trade.By means of economic analysis and empirical test, this paper argues that the high carbonemissions of China’s export trade has three possible reasons. They are high dependence onforeign trade and exports scale, unreasonable structure of export, growing emission reductiontechnology and so on. Unappropriate energy production and consumption structure and loosecarbon emission regulation make a difference in like manner. Finally, the dissertation makes recommendations of emission reduction on export trade, interms of the large number of carbon dioxide emissions and the huge pressure to cut emissions.Inorder to reduce carbon emissions in Chinese export trade, the following aspects should becounted:adjusting energy consumption structure, optimizing the export structure, strengthening R&D efforts, importing emission reduction technology and encouraging international cooperationfor global negotiations initiative.
