| Energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions is a worldwide hot issues of common concern, there is a complex relationship between economic growth and the two. Economic growth has long positive effect on energy demand, however, the fossil energy consumption produces carbon dioxide, carbon dioxide emissions brought about by global warming and other environmental issues would have a negative impact on economic growth, partly offsets the increase of energy consumption caused by economic growth. Traditional coal-dominated energy mix and the industrial structure of heavy chemical industry, decided that we pay special attention to developing low carbon economy, implement carbon emissions strictly. Beijing, as the capital of the world’s largest emitter of carbon, is a city of mega-resource consumption, and research on the relationship among carbon emissionsã€energy consumption and economic growth of Beijing is not only the need for achieving low-carbon development, but also of great significance to the better and faster economic development strategy making.Firstly, this thesis analyzed the current situation of Beijing’s economic growth, energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, estimated Beijing’s Green TFP by building a new C-D production function model which contains energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Secondly, established a VAR model to further explore the dynamic relationship among energy consumption, carbon emissions volume and economic growth, also forecasted the relevant data until 2020, then compared them with the carbon reduction target per unit of GDP energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of 2015 will reduce 16% and 17% than 2010 that proposed by the "National Economic and Social Development 12 th Five-Year Plan(draft)". In a word, the thesis provided decision-making basis for Beijing’s better and faster development of low-carbon economy. |
