With the advent of learning organization theory, the core ofmodern society scarce resources—human resources, especiallytalent resources attract more attention. The shift is seen incontemporary management practices, which highlights thesignificance of the reflection on learning organization theory fromthe view of management philosophy. This thesis elaborates theinnovations driven by learning organization theory from differentperspectives, such as management subject and object, managementstructure, thinking mode and method. And based on historicalmaterialism, this thesis sets out to objectively evaluate the meaningof learning organization theory in the history of managementthought.This thesis consists of five chapters:Chapter one describes the plight of traditional managementphilosophy and the rise of learning organization theory. Under theinfluence of theory of division of labor and the development oftechnology in modern society, traditional management graduallytrapped in the instrumental rationality. With profound changes in theexternal environment, the rapid development of organizationalelements and human needs, management is in urgent need to reflectitself from a higher level of philosophy. Learning organization theorycame into being in this context. The uniqueness of the theory lies inthat it provides approaches to maintain competitiveness fororganizations in rival environment and helps people to realize their own value in management activities.Chapter two involves innovations of management subject andobject theory developed by learning organization theory. In theinformation age, the management subjects are no longer the leadersplaying fixed roles as they were traditional organizations, butbecome members of the organization, whose potential and passion isfully inspired; correspondingly, the roles of management objects areno longer confined to employees or subordinate as they were intraditional organization, tremendous data have become an importantpart of it. The changes of the connotation and denotation of thesubject and object has brought about upgrade in management mode.Chapter three elaborates innovations of management structuredeveloped by learning organization theory. Learning organizationtheory broke the relative stability of the traditional managementstructure, which mainly reflected in three aspects, namely, thechange from a bureaucratic management structure to a flatorganization, the change from the design of strict labor division to aninformation consulting organization, and the change from a closedinformation organization to an opening organization. This structuralchange highlights the wisdom and value of human, and representsthe developing direction of organizational structure under thebackground of knowledge economy.Chapter four sets forth the innovations the managementthinking mode developed learning organization theory. The highly dynamic modern society and complex external environmentrequire organization management to keep pace with the times in themode of thinking, which is embodied from linear thinking to systemthinking, from habitual defense to open thinking and fromemergency thinking to forward-thinking, etc.Chapter five discusses the innovations of managementmethodology developed by learning organization theory. Innovationof management methodology guaranteed the realization of variousconceptions of learning organization theory. This chapter introducesfour conceptions, namely, system-dynamic-based system approach,information-based knowledge management approach,problem-oriented action learning approach and efficient and accuratepoint-thinking approach.
