Japan is the third-largest economy and the fourth-largest energy consumer of the world which the energy needed is almost entirely dependent on imports and the features of energy strategies are highly import-dependent. Energy issue has become an important factor that restrict the development of the Japanese economy. Therefore Japan has paid high attention to developing national energy strategy postwar. Along with the economic development and changes in the external environment, Japan has made several adjustments to energy strategies which have been gradually perfected, including the formation of energy diversification, diversification of import sources and oil reserves policy based energy strategy. In addition, Japan has practiced in traditional energy self-development which focus on energy diplomacy and international relations with the suppliers of energy that combine with the development of new energy and energy saving technologies to improve energy strategy. The restructuring of energy strategy and the establishment of the energy security concept in Japan has gone through several historical stages which gradually formed the national conditions applicable to the energy management system with changes and modifications in the energy situation of the world. After the21st century, Japan had no substantive changes in the overall structure of the energy strategy which only made an appropriate sound based on the original strategy. while Japan was forced to shift the energy strategy after the event of East Japan Quake Fukushima that implemented a new energy strategy transformation policies to adjust the energy structure previously. Nuclear power has played an important role as an important alternative source of energy in Japan which carries nearly one-third power supply missions. As the terror caused by the outbreak of a nuclear accident, Japan had to consider the status of nuclear power in the energy structure and take the appropriate measures. Nuclear accidents and the increase of energy imports in Japan caused many years of fiscal surplus to a deficit which created a great deal of pressure on the Government. Energy strategy transformation in Japan including using nuclear cautiously, dependent on imported oil or developing new sources of energy as an alternative to nuclear energy should be considered. The Japanese government is also trying to find security and suitable for economic development paths. The factual evidence in Japan proved that a country bound by the energy constraint is able to solve this problem through efficient energy strategies. Because Japan is highly dependent on foreign energy which did not bring a substantial threat to Japan that has positive reference to the development of Chinese energy strategy. Energy competition in the world today, our country should squarely face the challenges in the energy sector and actively adjust energy strategy. We analysis the transformation of energy strategy in Japan in order to take its essence the dross and perfect our own energy strategy.
