Food safety is a big issue affecting people’s health and development as well as Chineseeconomy and international trade. With the development of economic globalization, fish trade ofChina rises, bringing China into the world’s largest aquatic products producer. However, theaquatic safety became an important issue.This article makes a comprehensive analysis of China’s aquatic products from theperspective of law, food science, economics, and management. Based on the study of qualityand safety management of Rizhao City, Shandong Province, an in-depth study of currentaquaculture and differences in consumers’ awareness of aquatic safety is undertaken, attemptingto clarify the quality and safety of aquatic products from the micro level as well as some keyissues related to it. Rizhao City is taken as an example for aquatic safety management analysis,with main laws and regulations, seafood safety, inspection, supervision of aquatic animals andaquatic diseases as well as other aspects of quality certification taken into consideration. Bylearning from the U.S, EU and Japan, security strategy in aquatic management practices is wellplanned. Effective ways are taken to strengthen the quality management of the country’sseafood, so as to provide some reliable and forward-looking advice and solutions for thegovernment to develop workable policies to promote the sustainable development of seafoodmarket in Rizhao City.
