Transmission system is the crucial and basic component which bearing static, dynamic and vibration load of radar system, and the design and manufacturing level of it has a very important role to improve the technical index of radar system. The accurate, stable and reliable transmission system plays an important role to ensure the achievement of radar electrical properties. The transmission system of a new type of radar equipment has been taken as the main research object in this paper,and the design principle and engineering embodiment of its two inseparable subsystems, which are structure design system and servo control system, have been discussed and studied intensively.According to the main function of transmission system and the corresponding technical standards of the structure, design ideas and main components of the antenna azimuth and pitch drive structure are studied in this paper. By using traditional theoretical calculation and UG/NX FEM methods, the main stressed parts’ FEA models have been simulated under several appointed wind-load conditions. And based on the deflection and stress distribution of the simulated analysis results, the structural optimization has been done to make sure to attain enough rigidity and strength with optimal structure style and lightest weight. And which also make the product structure more lightweight, and comprehensive stress distribution more reasonable.In this paper, the software and hardware design methods of servo control system had been further discussed and studied. The main function of the servo control system, which mainly composed of two complete control circuits of antenna azimuth and pitching, is to drive transmission to complete corresponding operations accurately according to the preset requirements. The control scheme using CAN bus control, redundancy design, etc, strengthened the antenna azimuth and pitching angle reliable and stable drive precision by using the AC servo motor and the corresponding position sensor. And antenna circular sweeping, fan-shaped sweeping, manual control, pitch, and other series of functions have also been realized accurately.According to the requirements of military equipment, some design methods of reliability, maintainability, supportability, safety and environmental suitability were studied initially. And the products need to be further perfect is prospected.
