In recent years, CubeSat has become hot research topic in the field of micro-satellite due to its standardization, low cost and short development cycle. There are great challenges during the design of on-board computer with commercial components in CubeSat. It is necessary not only to consider power consumption, volume and weigh, but also to meet the target of high reliability of spacecraft.After widely investigation of the design methods of CubeSat, and summing up several types of fault tolerant technologies, this thesis proposes a fault recombinant dual redundant structure with adding fault tolerance protocol to every unit. This structure can solve the problem of dual redundancy system failure after arbiter fault, and effectively control the fault switching time. To improve the memory and program running reliability, the method of realizing software redundancy and information redundancy with using the surplus performance of commercial components is proposed in this paper. As to the reliability analysis of memory system, this paper builds a more accurate model, with the consideration of the signal event upset fixing the error which has occurred. As for the reliability analysis of fault recombinant dual redundant structure, this paper builds the model which integrates the hardware and software, and verifies the prototype with fault injection. The results show that the fault-tolerant methods can greatly improve the reliability of the on-board computer.The fault-tolerant methods proposed in this paper have advantages of high integration, high reliability and low power consumption, within the design rules of CubeSat. The design method is flexible and general, can be applied in other satellite systems.
