White LEDs will dominate illumination market because of the characteristic of energy conservation. A novel communication technique based on white LED makes scientists interested since good performances of the white LED in modulation rate. The characteristic for white LEDs used as illuminator and communication light source simultaneously offers the white LEDs a large extent of latent applications.White LED-based visible light communication is fit for plane, hospital and coal mine because of its performances such as high confidentiality and extreme low electromagnetic radiation, etc. Visible communication technique based on Android mobile is studied for registration in hospital in this paper.The communication system is developed in a server/client way, the server is controlled by a CPLD, the client is programmed in a Android mobile phone.In order to overcome the interference between uplink and downlink signals generated in the communication process, spatial segmentation channel model is. LED dots matrix is determined as the source in order to increase the capacity of each frame. Functions for LED display control and information processing are developed in CPLD, the image processing, information decoding and flashlight control is realized in an Android cell phone. Duplex communication based on white LED and Android devices is completed and the function of self-registration in the hospital is realized.
