Research And Analysis On The Early Warning System Of Students' Achievement In Private Colleges And Universities

Currently, most colleges and universities in China adopt the relatively conventional computer systems for managing students’scores. The main functions of these systems are simple and limited to adding, deleting, updating and gathering statistics. These systems can’t be used to analyze the data on class performance and students’scores, which makes them far from satisfying the practical needs of educators and students. This study of new score-managing system is based on Guangdong University of Science and Technology and takes full consideration of the current situation in private universities. This system is a multi-dimensional system, concerning the students, parents, teachers, tutors, etc. Especially, it encourages parents to take an active part in the running of schools and introduces the process warning into the system which includes Level 1 score-managing system and Level 2 score-managing system. Thus, this system would be helpful for the employment of students and the reputation of the colleges and universities.This paper mainly covers the research background, significance, research review of the warning and managing system of students’scores and the main contents of this paper. In the part of process analysis, the problems, organizations and original process are comprehensively evaluated and the optimized process is provided. With the help of the data flow and the data-dictionary, the functions are clarified and the overall functional structure and the structures of different modules are provided. The functional modules involve in study process management, warning management, data-collecting management and score management, etc. This study also makes an analysis of the data in each module of the system with an E-R system diagram and an elaborate database table structure. The conclusion part contains a summary of the research and an outlook for further work.
