Experimental teaching is a very important process in teaching of engineering profession for higher education. Experimental conditions have been an important indicator which reflect the level of college education. At present,the automatic control theory course experimrnt of automation major is still carried out on the traditional analog experiment box or through Matlab digital simulation experiments,which can meet part of teaching demand but not involves state feeback and other control methods.Beginners hardly set up the concept of industrial control system directly,can’t really understand the composition of actual control system,the problems existed in control system and how to solve these problems with control methods.It’s also difficult to carry out independent experiment,which lead students’ less participation in the experiment and has a little effect for students practical ability.RTWT is additional product based on Matlab/RTW, which uses the real-time kernal to ensure the application program run in real time and can constitute a semi-physical simulation system with a PC. It has such advantage:low cost,open platform,able to make full use of the powerful features of the simulink soft,free from the different stages of the control system design.Therefore,a semi-physical simulation experimental system based on RTWT is proposed in this paper.The main designing has such contents as below: a semi-physical simulation experimental system formwork based on RTWT was established combination of industrial PC,evoc data acquisition card, EL-AT-Ⅲ analog experiment box and boiler in the lab. The connection circuits between data acquisition card and the controlled objects such as analog experiment box and boiler were designed;hardware driver module library、controlled object models module library were designed; friendly,convenient and functional GUI were designed. Then the experiments about automatic control theory were carried out based on the above experiment system and method and test results were given for each experiment.Lastly,the research for complex control system and advanced control algorithmwere implemented on the experiment system. The paper designed the pendulum control system experiment and discrete and continuous fuzzy controller were designed for the pendulum angle. The paper established the boiler pressure control system,designed fuzzy controller and internal model PID control.The system is well solved the problems existing in the automatic control theory course experiment, and has a intuitive user interface.The test results show that the system has high reliability,good opening and is convenient for independent experiments.
