Based on the research of embankment disease in Mianguang Highway, this study shows the reasons of differential settlement in the embankment over sloped ground. Having done some researches, which are the locale testing, centrifuge testing and FEM dynamic analysis using software programme ABAQUS.The locale testing shows that there are so many embankments over sloped ground of highway in the South-West of China, and the Mianguang Highway was the typical one.The biggest problem is that the large lognitudinal cracks on pavement due to the differential settlement of embankment. The centrifuge testing is used to simulate the embankment over sloped ground. In order to get the relationship of compaction degree and differential settlement, set up three models which have different compaction degree. The resule shows that lower compaction ratio will get bigger differential settlement and more serious damage of embankment over sloped ground.By using software ABAQUS, having done some researches of the dynamic analysis of pavement, which is on the embankment over sloped gound ,under the loading of vehicle for one time. Different loading of vehicles, speed of vehicles, strength of surface, thickness of surface, breadth of surface, thickness if base, strength of base, height of embankment, strength of embankment and strength of ground are taking into consideration. In order to show the capability of asphalt pavement accommodating to the differential settlement under repeated loading, this thesis uses the damaged parameter d of the Concrete Damaged Plasticity model of ABAQUS. Result shows that the biggest damaged parameter d is 0.0022, by considering a safty factor 1.35.
