With the wide application of car networking and information technology in the transportation, information service system can provide more and more services and types of services, inevitably there will be a lot of the same or similar function services, therefore, for users, how to properly efficiently select the most available service from the candidate services is very important for successfully building service-oriented applications. In order to select the high availability of service, the user consider that service not only can reflect the user’s subjectivity but also can reflect the quality of service(Quality of Service abbreviation Qo S) objectivity in the choice of services, that is to say service not only to meet the functional requirements of users, but also quality of service should be guaranteed. The quality of service is the basis for the user on selecting service, so the evaluation of service Qo S is great significance. This paper presents a based multidimensional Qo S model evaluation method for traffic information service, which can provide Qo S support for the service selection. The main research contents including:1).According to non-functional properties of the service and the characteristics of each kind traffic information service, this article extract the appropriate Qo S attributes and evaluation index, establishing Qo S evaluation model for each type of traffic information service.2).For Qo S evaluation model presented we propose Qo S evaluation method in this paper, including standardization of Qo S metrics based ”Tolerance”, weight determination of Qo S attributes and index, utility evaluation function of Qo S. 3).Finally, we test the evaluation method proposed in this paper, with regarding traffic guidance and navigation service as application object. Experimental results show that this method can effectively evaluate Qo S of service, and accurately to provide users with high availability of traffic information service based on the value of Qo S.
