Truck crane is a kind of portable crane which is installed on the special truck chassis. With the advantages of flexible motor, convenient parts supply, high speed, it has a wide range of use. The quality of truck crane is mainly concentrated in the boom, turntable and frame, so it is very important to study the weight of the vehicle, especially for the optimization of the boom, the turntable and the frame. Because of the complex structure of the boom, the turntable and the frame, it is very difficult to study the optimization of the system. The traditional optimization method is mainly the numerical calculation method and the analytic method, its process is tedious and the computation precision is hard to guarantee.In view of the above problems, this paper use a company’s production of 100 tons of truck crane as the research object, using structural optimization of boom, a turntable and frame were optimized, in ensuring the premise of the mechanical properties of the automobile crane mass reduction, improve economic benefits. First, the optimization method of size optimization is used to optimize the boom of large truck crane. This method is proved to be safe and reliable, and it can shorten the design period greatly by combining the MATLAB optimization function with the sequence of two quadratic programming method for the optimization of the section size of the boom. Secondly, the topology optimization of the turntable of the truck crane is carried out. Through Pro/E software for three-dimensional modeling, the use of Workbench ANSYS topology optimization, according to the results to reduce the number of unnecessary material distribution. Finally, the frame structure of automobile crane were static analysis and make the structure improvement, improved frame structure modal analysis of the frame structure of 10 order inherent frequency and vibration type, for the dynamic analysis of the frame to lay a certain foundation.Through the analysis and study of the automobile crane structure, in meeting the strength, stiffness requirements under the boom weight reduction of 16.5%; table quality decreased by 5%. The quality of the frame to reduce 2%. Suspension arm, turntable, frame are lightweight, the structure of automobile crane is more reasonable, the total quality is greatly reduced, to achieve the goal of improving economic efficiency and cost saving. At the same time, it provides some basis for the design and improvement of the truck crane, which provides a reference value for the research of the optimization method of the crane.
