Urgent demand to innovation of equipment manufacturing industry and structure upgrading is put forward with the constant China's economic development. With the development of cranes toward larger hoisting capacity and higher hoisting height, optimization design of structure for crane is increasingly concerned by scholars at home and abroad and relevant enterprises. The metal structure of crane telescopic boom is analyzed and optimized by structure analysis and the combinatorial optimization based on topology and size optimization methods, and structure integrated design of telescopic boom is achieved by the development of visual software system in this paper.The primary research contents in this paper can be concluded as follows:The mechanical model and mathematic model of topology optimization for telescopic boom are built based on the product of QY50t and the setted parameters of topology optimization are discussed. By Hypermesh and Optistruct model of commercial software Hyperworks, topology optimization is used to the beam of crane, and topological figure is outputted. Therefore, some rational advices are brought forward to devisers.The parametric modeling of boom is achieved by APDL language of ANSYS software, and the size of beam section is optimized in order to analyze different parameters of beam section whose influence to the stiffness, strength and stability of beam. The main factors and secondary factors that effect integration capability of beam structure are decided. The performance parameters of structure model for telescopic boom are optimized in order to educe optimal section type under different conditions.The visual software based Visual Basic for optimization design of the boom-section is presented. And analytical calculation, finite-element analysis and optimization, three techniques to one body design process is provided for user by calling Matlab software and ANSYS software in the background in order to greatly simplify design time and shorten period. Moreover, rationality and reliability of boom structural design is tested by the comparison of test results and simulation data.In this paper, combinatorial optimization design of crane telescopic boom structure is achieved and visual software is achieved. Optimize method based on multi-variety software is brought forward. Result of run indicates the optimize method has great effect to improve capability of boom structure and has extensive application foreground.
