The automobile crane is widely praised for the characteristics of convenience about operation and movement comparing to many lifting equipments.However,for the factors of increasingly fierce industry competition as well as the field conditions with complexity and polytrope,the users have put forward higher requirements for the performance,load capacity and stability about the automobile crane.Because the strength,stiffness and stability of the telescopic boom have directly effect on the performance of the whole machine,the telescopic arm occupies an important position in many components of the truck crane.Therefore it has an important significance to analyze the telescopic boom of the automobile crane in the statics and the dynamics and optimize the design of it.In this paper the telescopic boom of QY20 truck crane is the object of study.First of all,we researched the force conditions?mathematical model and section form of automobile crane according to the design specifications of automobile crane and relevant industry data.After using the software of finite element analysis of the ANSYS Workbench to analyze the telescopic arm on the conditions of shrinkage?half extension and full extension on the base of telescopic boom modeling using three-dimensional modeling software Creo2.0,we got the information of maximum stress value?maximum deformation and it's occurrence site of telescopic arm in these three conditions above.Secondly,in the analysis of dynamics,the modal analysis of the telescopic boom was carried out,and the vibration mode and vibration frequency of the three working conditions are obtained,which can provide some reference for the practical work.On the subsequent analysis of buckling we mainly researched local stability problem of truck crane telescopic boom and obtained the first destroyed parts if instability occurred,which guide us to take strengthening measures correspondingly in the process of design and manufacture.Finally,on the base of the analysis and calculation,we used the module of Design Explorer in finite element analysis software to optimize the section size of crane telescopic boom by setting process of design variables,constraint conditions and objective functions,and got the optimized cross-section size,which reduced the quality of the telescopic boom saved material consumption and improved the overall benefits.The research for telescopic arm in this paper provides an important theoretical basis and reference value in the process of manufacture and design of it.Meanwhile,the research not only provides the method of analytical calculation and optimization design for the design and manufacture of similar products but also provides a solution for similar engineering problems.
