Based on Reynolds equation and Winkler assumption, the elastohydrodynamic lubrication model of the water- lubricated bearing was established, which describes the situation of the high specific pressure. The influence which is on bearing lubrication and load were mainly investigated by using the numerical approach because of the elastic deformation of Rubber lining. After, the Elastic lubrication performance of bearing was analyzed under the different parameters. At last, the stiffness and damping of the bearing were calculated by the finite difference method. The main contents and contributions are summarized as follows:(1) The mathematical model of bearing was calculated by the finite difference method and the curves of water film pressure and water film thickness were analyzed. The numerical results show that the water film thickness increased moderately, the water film pressure decreased obviously, the bearing area of water film was enlarged and the position of the minimum film thickness moves backward after considering the elastic deformation of the rubber lining.(2) The relationship between the bearing load, rotating speed and eccentricity was analyzed and the Elastic lubrication performance of bearing was investigated under the different parameters and high specific pressure for a practical rubber bearing of ship. The results indicate that: the working position of journal center is low at low speed and heavy load and the dynamic pressure effect is more significant when the bearing load or speed get bigger. As increasing bearing load, the rupture position of water film moves forward, conversely, it moves backward Along with the growth of speed. In order to increase the bearing capacity of unit area, the method is to make rubber lining thinner or make length diameter ratio Larger. When the bearing inclined, it can be observed that the axial pressure distribution was sharp and a higher pressure can be produced in the local, which is not benefit to work and. In addition, the water film pressure and film thickness of distribution is more and more uneve n along with the Increased Journal inclination.The stiffness and damping of the bearing were calculated by the finite difference method under the small disturbance and it was analyzed in different parameters. The main results show that the dynamic coeffic ients of water lubricated rubber bearings tend to smooth when the length diameter ratio of bearing is in the range of 3 to 4 and the deformation of the bearing liner will lead to differences between two cross dumping coefficients. In addition, with the increase of eccentricity and journal inclination, the main stiffness and damping present a non-linear increase. Conversely, the cross stiffness and damping is decreasing.
