Water-lubricated bearings with water as the lubricating medium,have great potential for development in fields of sustainable development,environmental protection and energy saving.Especially the water lubricated sliding bearing in the stern tube,submersible pumps have been widely used.Water-lubricated rolling bearing in high-speed electric spindle,nuclear power and other engineering field also has potential application prospect.At present,the key technologies for water-lubricated rolling bearing have been rarely reported,water lubricated bearings are the key components of transmission system.Their operating performance directly affects the working state of the host.Therefore,it is imperative to study the key technologies of the design and lubrication characteristics about water-lubricated bearings.The research object of this paper is the bearing used in an underwater feeding mechanism.According to the structural characteristics,working conditions and requirements of the bearing,firstly,the structure optimization design and material selection of the water lubricated ball bearings are carried out,on this basis,established the analysis model of the isothermal elliptical contact EHL of water lubricated ball bearings.Secondly,the numerical calculation,the difference between the lubrication states of the bearing using water or oil as the lubricating medium were analyzed,and analyzed the influence of key structural parameters such as bearing clearance,rotational speed and radius coefficient of inner ring groove on the water film thickness.Thirdly,in order to improve the corrosion resistance of water-lubricated ball bearings,making the surface treatment and hydrogen treatment process,the test shows that the corrosion resistance of the passivation stainless steel ring is significantly improved,and these processes effectively prevent the occurrence of hydrogen embrittlement.At last,the developed water-lubricated bearing was tested by simulating the working conditions.The bench test results show that the wear is the main failure mode of the water-lubricated bearings.After the test,the total amount of bearing wear is far less than the technical requirement.The developed water-lubricated bearing meets the wear resistance requirements for the host.Through the research on the design and development of water-lubricated bearings,the key technologies such as water lubricated bearing design,lubrication mechanism and surface treatment are mastered.It is great significance for the application of rolling bearings in the field of water lubrication,environmental protection and energy saving and breaking the monopoly of foreign technology and other aspects.
