Solar array emulator is a device using power electronics technology to simulate the output characteristics of the actual solar panel. The dissertation investigates the methods of signal generation of emulator, and summarizes the output performance requirements when designing a solar array emulator.The I-V and P-V characteristic curve between the engineering mathematical model and actual PV panels are compared by Matlab simulation tools. And the advantages and disadvantages of various I-V signal generation methods are analyzed.And then an analog signal generation circuit is put forward, which c an transform the curve flexibly, avoid digital delay, and improve the response time of system. Besides, by comparing the different power topology, the multiphase interleaved Buck converter is chosen to achieve high power and fast dynamic response output characteristics.The dissertation uses Simplis simulation tools to complete the compensators design of signal generation circuit. And then the small signal model of power part is set up, and its loop compensator is designed. The advantages of multiphase interleaved are analyzed, and the static and dynamic characteristics in time domain are simulated using Saber simulation tools.The design uses the combination of outer analog loop with the inner digital loop as system structure, and simulates the dynamic characteristic of the whole system by Saber simulation tools. And then the advantage of using Field Programmable Gate Array as the digital controller is explained, and its sampling module, compensation module and PWM output module are designed respectively.Finally, the system’s hardware circuit is designed and established, by which the steady-state and dynamic performance is verified. And the results can be concluded that using the programs can achieve high dynamic response speed, high power density, and simulation of any I-V curves.
