Fuel dispensers is a kind of liquid fuel volume measurement system for adding fuel to motor vehicles,which plays a very important role in daily life. The accuracy of verification results of fuel dispensers is directly related to the legitimate interests of operators and consumers, related to national measurement justice. Thus, fuel dispensers is national key compulsory verification instruments. Fuel dispenser verification in traditional way of relying on manual measurement has been unable to meet the current requirements, development of the fuel dispensers verification equipment with high automation and high precision has become an urgent needs.On the basis of the study of the traditional static volumetric method used to test fuel dispensers, the paper proposes a fuel dispensers automatic verification system,which combines sensor technology, image processing technology and embedded systems, a set of automatic verificion systems is built, and the realization of the system is introduced in accordance with the hardware design and the software design.The hardware design of the system is divided into mechanical design and electrical design. the mechanical design consists of standard metal tank structure design, oil gun flow rate automatic adjustment structure design, automatic leveling device structure design, the black-box structure design and automatic oil discharge system structure design; In electrical control part,Mini2440 board is chosen as the hardware platform of the system, and it externally connects to the camera module,the inclination acquisition module, the temperature acquisition module, the stepper motor drive module, the relay control module, so as to realize the automatic leveling, image level detection, temperature acquisition, automatic oil discharge,the selection of electrical components in each module and design of the corresponding interface circuit is completed.In the software design of system,first,the embeded Linux operating system is transplanted to the board to build the software development platform,and then the driver and application program is designed in each module device, the the design of automatic level adjustment program and liquid level image processing program is the key,and these programs are transplanted to the Linux system.Finally,the design of human-computer interface LabVIEW program is completed.Experimental results show that the fuel dispensers automatic verification system designed in this paper has the characteristics of stable operation,high automation, and high-precision,that can meet the requirements of verification regulation of fuel dispensers, and the verification efficiency is two to three times as much as the worker’s, at the same time, the damage caused by volatilization of oil to the metrological verifiers is avoided in the verification process.
