In economically developed areas, cable accounted for over 90% of the urban power network. Traditional maintenance has not adapted to the requirements of high reliability in the modern society,condition-based maintenance based on on-line monitoring and fault diagnosis is becoming a trend. The basis of condition-based maintenance is state evaluation of device. Therefore, it is necessary to study the state evaluation method, maintenance decision strategy and maintenance plan of transmission cable line.State evaluation is the foundation of condition-based maintenance. Based on the components of the cable line, the characteristics of the state evaluation of cable line are introduced in this paper. This paper determines the weight coefficient of each characteristic quantity in the element evaluation, the weight coefficient of each element in the state evaluation, and establishes the state evaluation system of the cable line. The state evaluation of cable line based on Fuzzy-AHP is introduced in detail, and verified by an example.The maintenance strategy of transmission cable is calculated and analyzed according to different parameters, such as failure rate, outage time, power loss of power supply enterprises, power loss of users, etc. Reliability and economy are brought into the p consequences of planned maintenance and break maintenance, the power transmission cable status differentiation maintenance decision strategy both economy and reliability which is is put forward. Reference to the method of risk assessment, which is about to the consequences of break maintenance multiplied to failure rate to characterize the risk of non-planned maintenance. By comparing the results of planned maintenance and the risk of non-planned maintenance, the index of decision making can be obtained.Finally, this paper summarizes the typical defects and cases of transmission cable in Guangzhou, detailed analysis was carried out on the reason of defects and repair process. On the basis of the above, a set of maintenance plan is put forward. Specific maintenance programs with detailed steps, it has a strong feasibility in operation.
