Due to the increasing traffic accident cause property losses and casualty,people have higher and higher requirement for automobile safety performance. As one of important components of automotive passive safety systems, airbag can effectively prevent secondary collision with car interior caused by the human body inertia when encounter collision in a car accident. At present, it is pervasive that all kinds of cars have airbags, and according to the difference between cars, the different protection of different parts, the types of balloon and shape also is not the same. Using the method of computer simulation can effectively reduce the cost and time which caused by gas generator cannot repeat use. Therefore, it is critical to establish accurate and realistic airbag static blasting finite element simulation model.This essay based on the existing airbag simulation methods(Uniform Pressure Method, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Corpuscular Particle Method), initially, driver’s airbag finite element model was established by using LS-PrePost software; subsequently, use software module’s own folding, adopt the way of folding left and right, curl around up and down to make the folding process; finally, the airbag model is into LS-DYNA software arithmetic to solve. Through analyzing and contrasting the speed of Z direction about airbag model of the upper fabric center area by three simulation methods, it is concluded that using the method of uniform pressure method have more advantages for airbag static blasting simulation conclusion.Through the research about the airbag’s influence on the driver injured, sprain injured and bruise injury, puts forward a car driver airbag static quality evaluation method, the evaluation index mainly includes the Z direction speed, Z direction coordinates and displacement of x, y direction of airbag upper fabric center area. Will this evaluation method applied to establish the airbag model in this paper, it can accurately points out that the performance of crash injury defects, verify the feasibility of the evaluation method.This article based on airbag design and build the car airbag static blasting test rig, and establish the linear correlation of projected area ratio, the X, Y, Z three directions speed simulation model validation method. Test rig mainly composed of test system and image acquisition system two parts. First of all, make the actual airbag static blasting by the test system, the image acquisition system carry on recording airbag blasting for the whole process; then, contrasts the same angle, same time node of airbag expansion of the blasting simulation video and animation, then calculate the projected area and area ratio of the two in YOZ, XOZ plane separately; Finally, linear fit of the two groups of area ratio data. The calculation results show that the two groups correlation coefficients is 0.97752 and 0.97521, each direction’s speed change trend is consistent, crest and trough appear time maximum deviation is 1ms, maximum deviation of crest value is 7.8m/s. The results validate the accuracy of the simulation model.
