Fire has become one of the most influential disasters. With the popularity and widespread use of electricity, China’s demand for electricity is growing. It followed by extensive application of power transformers, which brings power transformer fire occurred more frequently.Due to geographical factors of power transformers and substations, power transformers fire can’t monitoring and processing in real-time. This requires a remote monitoring system to monitor power transformer fault in real-time. Then it can immediate return data to the substation and make the alarm action.In this paper, we focus on power transformer fire wireless alarm system based on Atmega128 microcontroller. Atmega128 microcontroller as the core data collection processes and compresses the collected data. MC39 I as a wireless communication module packages the data. GPRS network as a transport carrier achieves terminal module’s data transmission and Internet access. Eventually we realize data transfer between the data acquisition terminal and the monitoring center station. Based on this, the paper mainly completed the following work:Firstly, we have completed the selecting of temperature sensor and the designing of associated circuitry. And DS18B20 realizes the detection of power transformer temperatures.Secondly, we have completed the selecting of smoke sensor and the designing of associated circuitry. By detecting the type of power transformer environment, MQ-2 smoke sensor can judge whether the fire occurred rightly.Thirdly, we have completed the design of wireless transmission module. With Siemens MC39 I wireless transmission module, the collected datas send back data processing center in real time and accurate.Fourthly, We completed the design of PC monitoring interface based on LabVIEW. Therefore, the operator can monitor power transformer operation indoor.In this paper, the fire alarm system prevents fires and reduces the fire hazard, which provides the electricity security of personal and property. It is of great practical significance.
