Highway tunnel plays a very important role in ensuring the smooth flow of roads and making it convenient for people to travel. The safety of the construction and healthy operation of the tunnel directly relate to people’s travel safety and economic benefits of the society. Due to the tunnel often faces a lot of uncertain danger in the process of the construction and operation, such as deformation of surrounding rocks, surrounding convergence, overlarge stress, vault subsidence and soil landslides, traditional manual testing can no longer meet the needs of the engineering monitoring, so establishing highway tunnel perfect automatic safety monitoring system has become a research hotspot.It has been a irresistible trend to collect the real-time data of sensor to judge the healthy state of the tunnel by using automatic management software.The automatic online safety monitoring system of highway tunnel vault subsidence based on the similar triangle method is researched and designed in this paper. The monitoring system consists of a sensor network, data transmission network and remote monitoring software. The system can not only collect real-time data and analyze the subsidence amount of tunnel vault, but also can realize automatic alarm function by using software. When the tunnel vault subsidence exceeds the set value, the monitoring system will automatically alarm by sound and light alarm. The design and implementation of the automatic monitoring system of tunnel have overcome the shortcomings of traditional manual detection, such as low precision, high risk, limited measurement conditions, poor real-time performance and slow warning. Firstly, the tunnel structure and the necessity of monitoring vault subsidence are fully discussed; and then system integration scheme based on the method of similar triangle is studied, the monitoring feasibility and point arrangement of laser sensor are analyzed, the programming process of LabVIEW host computer software, and the invocation of Access database and the realization of alarm function are studied and designed; finally, test the feasibility and practicability of themonitoring system through practical tunnel monitoring experiments, and analyze where the system sill need improving and put forward the improving direction.The results of the experiment show that the design of the tunnel vault subsidence monitoring system is simple and practical, and the results are accurate. The system can automatically monitor the healthy state of tunnel in real time and provide the necessary reference for the safety of construction and healthy operation of the tunnel. The results of the research can be applied to the online monitoring of the arch structure, and can provide reference for the safety monitoring of railway tunnel, subway tunnel, high-rise arch buildings and other structures. Besides, it also presents a new way to solve the problems of the complex engineering measurement, having great application value.
