Conceptual design is a process of the formation of product principle schemes, which directly affects the subsequent stage of the product development. In recent years, based on the importance of understanding of product conceptual design process to the whole design process, many research institutions at home and abroad have done a lot of research and exploration of the product conceptual design process, made a lot of achievements in scientific research, put forward a lot of related theories and methods, and explored the engineering practice. But, how to scientifically normatively express the principle schemes in the conceptual design stage, and the correct interpretation of the relationship of the input stream and the output flow in the principle scheme basic elements; how to make the principle schemes produced in the concept design phase both can satisfy the function requirements and can meet the performance requirements; the question of how in the conceptual design stage the principle schemes of using topology optimization analysis need to be further studied. In view of which the conceptual design phase contains a large number of unknown or uncertain information, the use of quantitative modeling and general optimization methods is not feasible, the need to find a new modeling and optimization methods, in particular, the CAE simulation technology is introduced into the conceptual design phase to the product design, the first from the CAD design that implementing qualitative simulation simulation in conceptual design process, providing the optimum design scheme for product modifications, new innovation, so as to produce high quality, high performance and short cycle products.In view of the problems encountered in the process of mechanical product principle scheme optimization and modeling, this paper further studies modeling thought of AMESim software, puts forward element modeling process of the conceptual design principle schemes of mechanical products, and points out the relationship of basic input / output stream in the model elements of the principle scheme, which illustrates the basic relationship in the basic product parts; deeply studies the lightweigh and the idea of topology optimization of Solidthinking software, puts forward the topology optimization process model of model elements of principle schemes of mechanical products; finally which is verified by practical engineering example. The main contents of this paper include:(1) Based on the function behavior structure(EE-FBS) model of the expansion effect, this paper will establish the process model of the generation of principle schemes of mechanical product conceptual design, and connect effective cohesion with element modeling process based on AMESim.(2) Through the process of modeling and simulation research of AMESim software, using AMESim software component library and its extended component library, this paper will establish the component model of principle schemes of the conceptual design of mechanical products, and point out that the relationship of basic input and output streams in the model components in the conceptual design stage, so as to clarify the basic relationship in the basic component parts of the product, and illustrate the process of the basic principle component modeling.(3) Through the research of Solidthinking software lightweight modeling and the process of topology optimization, this paper will establish a topological optimization process model based on Solidthinking software, so as to that the principle scheme of forming in the conceptual design process can meet the requirements of product function and performance.(4) This paper will implement the design and development of the lithium battery pole piece weighing and sorting machine, apply EE-FBS to form a lithium battery pole piece weighing principle scheme of mechanical system, and use AMESim software component library and its extended component library to establish the component model to describe the principle scheme qualitatively, then use the Solidthinking software implement topology optimization for model elements, and analyse the results finally, verify that the concept design scheme of the lithium battery pole piece weighing sorting machine is feasible.
