The total number of persons with disabilities in the world’s population is up to hundreds of millions, and lower limb disabilities are accounted for 30%. Meanwhile, the appearance of population aging becomes more serious, the elderly which act inconveniently also more and more. Hence, the outdoor travel problems of lower limbs disabilities and the elderly are more and more obvious. In order to solve the problem of going up and down of the wheelchair in the people of lower limb disabilities and the elderly which act inconveniently, expand their living space, and improve their quality of life, the paper designs a device which the wheelchair goes up and down. The wheelchairs of lower limb disorder crowd can get on or off the cars independently by using the device. The main content of this research are:(1) On the basis of the investigation and analysis of the lower limb disabled people’s psychological needs and physiological needs, and aiming at the special needs of the crowd,firstly, the design request of going on and off device then the type of car is determined, and based on this, the general scheme of off device is confirmed finally. The whole device is made up of going on and off mechanism, the moving platform recovery device, safety baffle device and hydraulic system which is power producer.(2) According to analysis of the ultimate position which the device can satisfy the definitive structure size of the selected car compartment and the wheelchair, the size relations of each component are determined, and the kinds of size are optimized by MATLAB optimal toolbox. Driving function of the organization is established by the kinematics analysis through the closed vector method. And then, the virtual device is established and verified whether intervene or not in the Solidworks 3D modeling software.The rational model of the device is ascertained by optimization.(3) According to driving function established by the kinematics analysis, the kinematics simulation of the organization are done by using ADAMS software, and the speed curve and acceleration curve of the moving platform and the hydraulic cylinder are obtained respectively. In line with curve analysis, the driving functions can satisfy the requirements of the human body comfort and running smoothness, and then the rationalityof structure design and function drivers is verified reasonably.(4) The stress limit positions are find out by the statics analysis of the main lifting mechanism, and limit load condition of mechanism in the whole process is analyzed by ANSYSY software. Lastly, the stiffness and strength of going on and off device need to verify whether they meet the requirements.
