This object is research on Qinghai Tibetan region of Amdo Tibetan traditional settlement and vernacular dwellings, According to literature, sit mapping, Analysis the development and evolution, cultural characteristics, type of residence and the law of development under multicultural context. Summarized the existing problems in the protection and development of traditional Tibetan settlement, also put forward a new patterns and machanisms to guide traditional settlement in Guide. Hope to provide valuable basic information and significant reference for the research on Qinghai Amdo Tibetan traditional settlement. We can make a feasibility analysis to “update” the traditional dwellings under the background of poor infrastructure in minorities areas,while the society is under a new urbanization.With rapid development of medical and education in Tibetan and other ethnic minorities,populations also increase a lot. But the environment around are still terrible.So this research has a very important practical significance for improving the living environment. In this paper, mainly through the traditional dwellings in multicultural blending areas to analysis and summarize.From the nature of the dwellings, center on the core subject-human, to study how to improve the living environment and traditional dwellings sustainable development strategy.The main research topics from residential settlements and dwellings two aspects of traditional Tibetan culture, by field mapping of LanJiao villagers dwellings in Guide County, this project will analysis local Tibetan dwellings from the form, function, space.and other multi-angle. First, a brief description on the scope of the research, present situation and the significance will be introduce. Secondly, analysis and discuss the influence issues on settlement siting, layout, space and other aspects under the multicultural background.
