Residential building is an important component of the city, the number of residential buildings is increasing and the construction quantity is gradually increasing with the continuous development of China’s economy, the process of urbanization is accelerating.Residential buildings produced a large number of resources and consumed a large number of greenhouse gases at the same time in the construction and use phase.In order to cope with the international community to control greenhouse gas emissions, Chinese government made commitment that to the year 2020, China CO2 emission scheme dropped 40%-45% in comparison between 2005.In order to ensure the realization of this goal, China’s current residential building carbon emissions should be identified.The research of residential building carbon label mainly includes two parts:residential building carbon labeling calculation and carbon labeling system. On the basis of the literature, the life cycle system boundary of residential buildings is defined as "from the cradle to the grave",covers the whole life cycle of the residential buildings,divided into building materials production, construction, use, demolition and recycling five stages. Based on the PAS 2050 standard, the calculation process of the residential building carbon labels is proposed which is drawing residential building process, carbon emission boundary determination, data collection and calculation of carbon emissions four parts. And established carbon labeling calculation model of residential building from the perspective of the whole life cycle.Selected shear wall structure and frame shear wall structure of the 5 high-rise residential building case in Xi’an City, the carbonlabels are calculated and analyzed, and the selection of residential buildings 1 case were detailed calculated and analyzed. The calculation results show that building materials production, construction, use, demolition and recycling stages accounted for the entire life cycle ratio of 30.82%, 2.78%, 51.11%, 0.63% and 14.65%. The unit area annual carbon emissions of the shear wall structure is lower than that of the frame shear wall structure, the unit area annual carbon emissions of residential building case 1 is25.621kg/(m2·a) for the minimum. And increase the green-land area and building material recovery ratio can significantly offset part of the carbon emission in the life cycle.Finally on the basis of the above research, proposed residential building carbon labeling certification system. Including two parts: the calculation of carbon label,carbon labeling certification and accreditation, participants are real estate developers,advisory services, urban construction related departments, and puts forward the promoting three suggestions for implementation of the system.The quantification and identification of the carbon label and transparent carbon information of residential buildings have practical significance for promoting the development of low-carbon buildings and energy-saving emission reduction work in our country. At present our country has not accepted, implemented carbon labeling system,this paper study on the residential building carbon labeling research provides reference basis.
