Research On Frame Of Overall Urban Design And Pinqing Lake Area Overall Urban Design

Urban design is dependent in urban planning in C hina, but in fact they are two different tools dealing with urban problems and development forecasting, and the content of spatial quality makes urban design more comprehensive than the other one. Urban development should be conducted in the space level. In China,urban planning is implemented before urban design, and social economy development is usually put in priority position than space environment and human perception. After entering the stage of later urbanization and new economic norm, more and more cities have the conditions of using urban design directly, the mixed use of urban functions and the demand of spatial qualit y make the urban planning ineffective. It is important to use urban design tools directly from the overall level of the city under the transformation of the urban development control tools.The paper summarized the overall urban design theory and practice in C hina, and selected Seattle, Portland and San Francisco as reference for foreign countries. Compared with the general urban design at home and abroad, the paper put forward that the overall urban design should be based on the classification of the feature of spatial elements, rather than the classification of spatial scale, to construct the framework. And the control of the overall urban design results should be strengthened to control urban development. Also the ‘design guide’ should be prepared based on urban design results to guide the construction behavior.Based on the situation of wide-range content of domestic urban design and un-clear boundary, the paper put forward that urban design should focus on urban public space, and make the urban public space, the physical interface of the public space and the important public center as the spatial object for urban design. Then, based on the previous factors, the paper analyze the spatial elements and integrate the overall spatial elements, Forming green and ecological water system and open space, public center and Plaza of residence space, roads and streets of connection space, level and visual corridor of space image construction, historicity and commemoration. And based on these factors, the city’s overall style and feature can be controlled according to the ‘overall style and zoning’ summarizing the entity and spatial characteristics, forming the ‘general& special’ structure. These views of the paper showed above were implemented in the general urban design of Shanwei Pinqing Lake, and become a new framework of overall urban design.It is also an attempt with practical significance, to provide a new idea for the overall urban design under the transformation of the urban development control tools in C hina.
