With the modern machinery developing towards large-scale, high-performance and highspeed, the radial sliding bearings have been widely used in a variety of rotating machinery. The sliding bearings have great capacity and good operation stability and reliability, so the lubrication performance of the sliding bearings directly affect the reliability and life of the applied machines. In order to use plain bearings more effectively, building a corresponding bearing test rig is the most effective way to study the internal operating mechanism and characteristics and to optimize the structure design.At present, for large sliding bearings, most of the sliding bearing test rigs cannot simulate the actual operating conditions with high speed and large load, so there are some limitations in the study of the performance of these bearings. Design and build a large-scale sliding bearing test rig with the simulation of the actual operating conditions and test all kinds of performance parameters of the tested sliding bearings. And then analyze the factors that affecting bearing performance has important theoretical and practical value of optimizing the design of sliding bearings and improving the stability of sliding bearings.The system design of the large-scale sliding bearing test rig mainly includes the design and manufacture of the mainframe, the control system and the acquisition system. The test rig can be divided into five systems: mechanical structure, drive system, lubrication system, control system and acquisition system. In the process of designing, its characteristics of function as well as manufacture and assembly features are all considered. In order to analyze the rationality of the design of the test rig two methods are used: finite element simulation in the design stage and prototype testing in the pilot test stage. Use the technology of digital modeling, simulation software, electrical control, sensors and signal processing and develop a reliable large-scale bearing test rig to carry out dynamic characteristics tests and to get reliable speed, temperature, pressure, displacement, acceleration signals for further in-depth study of other test bearings.
