Research On Port Logistics Development Strategy Of A Company

The development of ports not only can have the port economy and its peripheral industry ascended but also can bring great promotion to the urban economic level, enhance the competitiveness of the port cities likewise. Base on the strategy of "One Belt, One Road", the integration of China’s economy with the globe’s will speed up. Benefit in the construction of the 21 st century maritime Silk Road, which is creating a turning point of development for the port industry in China, on this condition that the China ports should timely formulate corresponding development strategies which belong to their own, seize the opportunities and meet the challenge. In this environment, it is necessary for Company A to proceed strategic analysis and establish a proper development strategy which is suitable for herself.This paper is composed of case text and case analysis: The case text is mentioned: 1.an introduction to Company A regarding her condition and capability of port logistics, the operational status as well as her challenges are facing with; 2. analysis of her current managing status. The case analysis is mainly mentioned her logistics operational theory, strategic management, strategic analysis and the basic theory of the fourth generation port, and, an analysis to the opportunities and threats, strength and weakness will be proceeded on the basis of SWOT principle, and concrete suggestions and countermeasures will be put forward back on the existential issues.This paper considers that, in the new era, the port logistics development strategy goal of Company A is to become “the worldwide leader in port investment, development and operation management”; Research in combination with the strategic goals of Company A, have formulated that four development strategies which respectively are the burgeoning market strategy, the extension of service strategy, the strategy of innovation and strategy of talent reservation; Moreover, to ensure smooth implementation of those strategies, have proposed a series of conclusion about the organization structure,control system and organization culture which are able to fit for Company A’s strategy in port logistic development wise.
